I
grew up in Potomac, Maryland with my loving family and dog. However, home for
me has always been a place where a person can grow. That place is and will
always be the tennis court. It is where I learned to compete. Tennis helped me
learn how to take losses maturely and to stay humble when winning. Although I
suffered from a life-changing injury several years ago and am unable to play
tennis at a competitive level, I now coach tennis. As I coach tennis to kids, I
get to watch them grow just as I did through tennis.

You and I have such similar homes! After an injury that took me out competitively I discovered coaching as my new passion. I still am able to play at a high level just couldn't rebound fast enough to play college. Also, Jen Bohn and I both play tennis we should all hit around sometime!
ReplyDeleteI was in my high schools tennis team, and i played tennis. Playing tennis was a great experience. I don't know what i would if i cant play tennis anymore.
ReplyDeleteTennis is indeed a nice sport. I also enjoy playing it and will join the Tennis club. As for your definition of home, I like how you use it as a place of growth and development, and that has taught you so many things in life.
ReplyDeleteI have been playing tennis for the last eight years and I can totally understand your passion for the game. It is such a mental sport and its an awesome way to teach yourself how to appropriately control your reactions and is a skill that can be applied to other life experiences. I love tennis! Its great that you still coach!
ReplyDeleteHow inspiring! It is very impressive to hear that you haven't let this injury completely stop you from enjoying the sport you love.
